>So it’s that time of year again where little kid’s heads and tummies get filled with Tricks and Treats.
Figured since we are heading out to a Halloween Party tonight at our Fabulous friends Scott and John, I would regale you with costumes past.
>It’s Mid-October and I got nothing for you.
Quiet weekend lead into a quiet work week.
The best thing about this week is my Flu Shot and the fact that I am out of the office on Friday.
Friday will be jam packed with fun stuff like a teeth cleaning, Emissions testing, and a visit to the car shop for the noise the engine is making.
I know don’t get jealous of all the fun I am going to be having.
Oh and 45 Days until vacation!
>So I posted back in June about Pride48 and their weekend long marathon of Podcasting to celebrate Pride.
Well they are back, with the help of video maker Thom, to bring you this important message.
So go on over to Pride48 and check this fabulous group of Podcasters out. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll get sucked into their fabulousness (trust me I did)
So a heartfelt Thank You to Thom and all those podcasters I hold near and dear, for a Wonderful Video!
>Well it has been way too long. I know I know. I blame it mostly on the head cold that hit me a week and a half ago.
So let’s start at the last post. After our fabulous day in NYC with friends came a somewhat lackluster week. This is the week the head cold hit me. It started Tuesday and is still kinda lingering.
The hubby also started work on his project of digging up around the pool where it used to be mulch but over the years juts degraded into dirt.
This took him most of the week but overall turned out really well and ready for the onslaught of new mulch.
Saturday the 25th I had a parade, it was unusually hot for the end of September, the parade wasn’t long but was stop and go which made it seem longer. The Corps did well but the Color Guard were the only ones to take home a trophy.
Sunday was a busy day of errands and the one thing that signals summer is over, the closing of the pool. It’s not a big pool (about 15′ around) but it does the job on those hot summer days.
Which now brings us to this past week. Work was crazy for me, what with all the shunning going on, and at one point for 2 days covering for 3 other people who were out.
The shunning is pretty funny (so far 7 days) they act like I had control over a situation they aren’t happy with (I call it guilty by association). Let’s see how long this goes on for.
Monday night was the annual nominations of officers for the Drum Corps. Once again I am running unopposed for Drum Major.
Weds the hubby and I spent about an hour and a half moving the 12 tons (or yards whatever) from the driveway to around the pool and then the rest to a pile in another part of the yard. Wednesday was the only day without rain this past week until the weekend. I figured we better get it in while the storm is calm.
Friday was dinner out with some friends to our favorite Asian Restaurant. Then just some chatting over coffee and dessert at our place.
Yesterday brought the last parade of the season. Was a perfect day weather wise for a parade. The crowds were out in full force which really makes for a good parade. Still waiting to hear if we won any trophies.
Another weekend over….they seem to go by so fast.
56 Days until Vacation!

>What a great weekend. On top of our usual Saturday Errands, which this weekend involved out monthly trek over to Sam’s club in NY, we made a small pit stop to meet 2 fabulous friends for lunch.
So we met Walt and his hubby Ken just about 2 years ago in NYC as part of a group gathering. We have since then kept in touch via Facebook and our mutual blogs.

So after much cajoling and finally putting all the right things in place and much discussion, we finally made it happen and had a wonderful lunch meeting the 4 of us.
Walt was every bit the great guy I remembered from so long ago! And contrary to popular belief his husband Ken is a pretty nice guy as well.
Since Walt and Ken live in Albany, and we live in Danbury, the most logical place to meet was Hyde Park NY at the Eveready Diner. My hubby and I first heard of this great diner when it was showcased on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the Food Network. And if it is good enough for Guy then hell it must be good enough for us.
So all in all the food and the Company we kept made for a great day all around. Later that night we attended our friends monthly game night where I was able to break in the new Scattegories game I bought for the occasion, and promptly lost the over game, but had some wins a couple of the rounds.

Next weekend is our friends monthly game night. In honor of this monthly shindig I have started listening to a new podcast Game Night Guys I plan on getting their reviews and picking up some new games for the gang to play! The first one I am going to be on the lookout for is Scattegories. I think this game would do very well with the crazy bunch of homos (and some straights) that play each month.
The following weekend we will be back in NYC to visit a couple friends who will be in town for the weekend. Haven’t seen them in forever and looking forward to some adult beverages and good company.
Then the next 2 weekends wrap up the Drum Corps parade season with 2 Convention parades.
So back to the Big Gay Cruise of 2010. The hubby and I and 2 other friends have planned our vacation (rather late this year) for Thanksgiving Weekend. We booked a fabulous room on the Celebrity Solstice (first time on this ship and Celebrity in general). This will also mark our first time booking with a group.
This won’t be an all gay cruise (not sure we could do that) but a group of gays traveling under the Pied Piper Travel group. From what I have read this looks to be one fabulous trip! Will report more on that as it gets closer and more details come out.
So I will wrap this up for now as the anticipated email has just arrived here at the office. Closing at 2! Happy Labor Day Indeed!
>Hear that? That’s the sound of my thumb working again. Now that I got the stitches out this past Monday I can now use my thumb again. Let me tell you, typing has been a bitch.
So what else has been happening since my last official post?
While we were away I found out that I won Best Drum Major at the parade we had right before we went away. See picture below of the fabulous Trophy I got for it.
We had our last official Summer Parade 2 weeks ago on Friday the 13th. We get a few weeks off now until the end of Sept when the Convention Parades begin. This thankfully gives my thumb plenty of time to heal.
In the meantime Drum Corps rehearsals start up again the beginning of Sept, making the hubby a Wednesday night Widow.
The weekend of our last parade we also attended our friends Monthly Game Night. This is always a great time and this one also happened to be the 1 yr anniversary.
That brings us to the great cheese grater incident. After that things slowed down since the thumb didn’t allow for much doings.
This past week we visited my new niece finally, celebrated moms birthday, and now it’s Friday and the weekend is here!
